This Week's Topic: "A Peaceful Rise of China?"
We will explore the topic as it is addressed in a series of articles by Zheng Bijian, a top political advisor to the government of China. Mr. Zheng has recently presented some of his views in the latest issue of Foreign Affairs, and a collection of his speeches has been published by the Brookings Institution.

报名：每个游戏分组，每组10人，开始的时候报名。我们在当场会设置不同的白板，每一个游戏都有自己的一个板，大家自己在上面报名，10人一组，一般4-5组。
得奖：小组之间的竞争游戏，第一名，所有小组成员都给两个“手环”，第二名所有成员给一个“手环”，游戏总结束的时候，个人按照手上环数的多少，个人自己挑选礼品。

谢长进，男， 1975 年生于安徽淮北， 1991 年9月考入中国科技大学近代力学系（9105）。在校期间，热爱足球， 是科大校足球队主力，历任队长，同时多次组织各项院系的各项活动。 1998 年到美国耶鲁（Yale）大学留学，不幸于 2001 年被查出鼻咽癌，经化疗医治，一度好转。之后癌症几度复发，但他还是顽强的挺了过来，并于2004 年6 月获得博士学位。随后到芝加哥摩托罗拉公司（Chicago）实习和工作。 2005 八月， 在化疗近5 个月之后， 癌细胞扩散，病情转危，芝加哥大学医院宣布放弃治疗。
自患病以来，长进得到了家人、学校、公司、以及同学和朋友们的多次爱心捐助。然而随着病情的发展，保守的西医疗法已经不足以控制病魔的进一步肆虐，而长进的医疗保险也不容许其接受昂贵的治疗手段，因此甚至有医生预言其生命只剩下一个多月。这些都使得长进及其家人不堪重负，濒临放弃。目前，长进接受了来自纽约的中医治疗，效果颇佳（见 A Letter from Changjin），长进为此增强了生活的勇气和同癌症作斗争的决心。中医表示，西医半月前的预言是荒谬的，如果坚持中医治疗，长进可于三个月之内恢复化疗前的水平，进而采取其它治疗方法彻底杀死癌细胞。并且，中医为谢长进和自己同学的故事所感动，答应免费为其治疗。但是即便如此，医生往返的机票，替长进购置的医疗器械，药物等等都是不小的开销。为了解除长进的后顾之忧，使他安心接受治疗，我们开始寻求社会各界人士的帮助。我们衷心希望大家慷慨解囊，为了挽救这样一位天之骄子而做最后的努力。我们也渴望长进能够早日脱离困境，早日回到同学、同事中间，过一个正常人的生活。
